Stephen Curry delivered a vintage superstar performance for the Warriors against the Hawks and NBA Twitter couldn’t help but fawn over him.

NBA fans were promised on Monday night that they would be getting a high-octane matchup between two of the league’s most explosive players, Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Hawks guard Trae Young. As it turns out, though, Curry wasn’t about to make it a fair fight.

There are countless instances at this point of Curry going absolutely bananas on any given night when the rim looks like an above-ground swimming pool to him. Fittingly, the half of the Splash Brothers that’s able to get on the floor right now was living up to that billing.

It was one of those nights for Curry when he was just doing stuff like this and making it look easy.

After just three quarters and 27 minutes on the floor, Curry had put up 42 points (7-of-12 shooting from 3-point range) along with nine assists and six rebounds, just because. Naturally, NBA Twitter was buzzing at this performance.

Whenever Curry gets going, it truly feels as if NBA fans are watching something that they’ll never forget.

Suffice it to say that the Warriors star got the best of Young and the Hawks in this billed head-to-head matchup between two of the league’s best guards. Though it should be said that Young did his part with a big performance of his own — just not as big as Curry’s.
