5 WWE opponents for The Rock if he returned for one more match
By Byron Smith
4. Seth Rollins
The WWE can not figure out whether or not Seth Rollins is a main event star. The WWE has also not figured out how to present Rollins. Is he the Savior of Misbehavior? Is he the Beastslayer? Is he the Messiah? Is he the Drip King? Nobody seems to know and Rollins is going to start struggling because of that indecision.
Letting Rollins battle The Rock on the stick immediately would help get Rollins back where he belongs in the main event and give him some momentum to ride at the top of the company.
Seth Rollins is as elite on the mic as he is in the ring, which would give an opportunity to absolutely win over some fans and possibly create a character that sticks. As long as he is presented as a legitimate threat to The Rock, that is. If Rollins’ character is suddenly shifted to be about being a coward and running from threats, he just gets eaten in another program with a legend.
3. Drew McIntyre
Oh look, another superstar that seems extremely easy to get over but WWE is starting to lose to the shuffle.
Drew McIntyre has been the next face of the company twice now, and both times the WWE has booked him into oblivion. He is currently being juggled between Raw and Smackdown every draft, which is keeping him from long-term stories and rivalries.
Wrestling The Rock does not fix that problem, but it does give McIntyre some mainstream exposure, which may help him convince the powers that be to let him build some long term.
Plus, the match would be exciting. McIntyre wrestles a great WWE style match, and The Rock is the best to ever wrestle that style. The Rock would struggle in the ring with many modern wrestlers, but McIntyre would be the perfect matchup for him.
