College football upset pick Week 11, No. 2: Ohio State
Rank: 6 | Opponent: vs. Purdue | Time: Saturday, Nov. 13, 3:30 p.m. ET
Purdue can’t do it again, right? They handled Michigan State on Saturday, knocking off the number three team in the nation. The Spartans had dreams of making the College Football Playoff and taking a chance at a championship, but now those dreams are dashed. Purdue is looking to take out the Big Ten’s next best chance at making the Playoff. They head to Columbus to take on Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are usually money at home, but this isn’t a normal OSU team. They already lost one game at home when Oregon took them out earlier in the season. Can it happen again? Ohio last lost one game at home in 2017, so losing two games at home seems improbable, but there seems to be some magic with this Purdue team.
The Boilermakers already beat Iowa when they were a top-five team and now Michigan State. Purdue’s Aidan O’Connell has to be perfect against the Buckeyes this week. He needs to make timely throws and find his receivers in stride. The Ohio State defense isn’t great against the pass. If O’Connell can take advantage of that, the Boilers makers could make it upset number three on the season.
