College football upset pick Week 11, No. 1: Oklahoma
Rank: 4 | Opponent: at Baylor | Time: Saturday, Nov. 13, 12:00 p.m. ET
Oklahoma has survived this season, and somehow they are undefeated. They switched the starting quarterback from Spencer Rattler to Caleb Jones. There have been changes at other positions, and now the Sooners seem to be hitting their stride. However, we’ve seen teams do this in the past, and eventually, their luck runs out. In fact, it feels like previous Oklahoma teams have been here before.
This season, there are just too many flaws. That is why this is the week the Sooners fall. Baylor is coming off a surprising loss to TCU. Are they frauds or were they looking ahead? If they took the foot off the gas against a team that just first its head coach of 20 years, then they need to ramp it up to 8,000 RPMs this week.
Oklahoma does have motivation this week. The playoff committee kept them at number eight in the rankings and did not move Oklahoma ahead of Michigan State. They have the same upward climb they had last week despite the upsets. They need this game to even have a chance.
And Baylor will put a nail in the Sooners’ coffin. It will be a heartbreaking loss, but it will be a marquee win for the Baylor Bears.
