5 bold predictions for the Patriots against the Browns
Myles Garrett will continue his incredible season
What a year it has been for Myles Garrett. The former No. 1 overall pick comes into Week 10 leading the NFL with 12 sacks, half a sack ahead of his division rival T.J. Watt.
The Patriots offensive line ranks in the upper half of the NFL in sack percentage. Jones has been sacked on 5.25 percent of dropbacks this season, which ranks 13th in the league. In their last three games, the Patriots rank ninth in that same category at 4.08 percent.
It’s important to point out, though, that the Patriots haven’t faced a lot of good pass rushes this year. When they have, Jones has been punished. He was sacked four times against Tampa Bay, and the Patriots allowed the lackluster Jets to get to him three times in Week 2.
The Browns will take away the Patriots ability to run and force Jones to throw. Their gameplan will mirror that of New England’s defense, but the Browns will find more success. More dropbacks for Jones means more opportunities for Garrett and the Browns pass rush. The Browns defense will need a big play at some point in this game. A strip sack for No. 95 is never out of the question.
