The game will come down to the wire

The Steelers have absolutely no right penciling this game in as a win. Say what you want about the Lions- they have 53 guys who play hard every week. Detroit took the Ravens to the edge before Justin Tucker won the game on a miracle field goal. They also put together good games against the Vikings and Rams.

While the Steelers haven’t lost in over a month, each of their games have been decided by one possession. Not only that, Pittsburgh seems to have a formula for winning that drives up the collective blood pressure of their fan base- start fast, build a two-score lead, blow the lead in the second half, and win with either a field goal or defensive stop. It’s exactly what they have done in every game on this four game win streak.

Pittsburgh seems incapable of putting together two great halves of football. The Lions aren’t going to just roll over. The Steelers open the week as nine point favorites, but I’d bet that Detroit keeps the game within a score. Even against a team like Detroit, Pittsburgh is notorious for playing down to competition. Because of that, the Steelers apparent incapability of beating teams handedly, the game will come down to the final drive.
