College Football Week 11 Winner: Michigan Wolverines

Particularly after the blown lead and loss to rival Michigan State, the college football world seemed prepared to pile dirt on Jim Harbaugh and Michigan once again as the Wolverines were going to fall short of expectations and end up as a 9-3 or 10-2 team, just like always. Hence why there were a ton of people backing Penn State at home against Michigan on Saturday.

Things definitely got hairy in the second half but, after 60 total minutes, the Wolverines pulled out the win and remained very much in play for a College Football Playoff spot.

Now, it should be said that Michigan is and should be measured by how they perform against Ohio State. And I still have my concerns about how this team matches up with the Buckeyes. That said, this might be the best Wolverines team under Harbaugh and winning on the road in this game against the Nittany Lions was further evidence of that.

College Football Week 11 Loser: Everyone trying to doubt Georgia

Throughout the week leading up to Saturday, college football media had never made me feel more like we are living in a simulation. Despite the fact that Tennessee had been pedestrian against good defenses this season and despite the fact that Georgia has dominated every single offense that they’ve faced to this point, people were trying desperately to make the case that the Vols were going to test the Dawgs.

Spoiler: They did not.

Sure, things were close early, but Georgia has always been a team that wins by death from 1,000 paper cuts. They suffocate the life out of an offense and wear opponents down on both sides of the ball, which they did thoroughly in Neyland Stadium. So here we are again, with Georgia winning by 20+ points and everyone who tried to convince everyone else that the Bulldogs could be tested sitting here with egg on their face.
