2021 NFL power rankings, Week 11: Cowboys, Packers, Bills rebound
Winners of two of their previous three games, Urban Meyer’s squad made its way north to Indianapolis to take on the rival Colts. The Jaguars trailed 17-0 less than 15 minutes into the game.
But this is a team playing much better football as of late. It wound up winning the total yardage battle (331-295), with more than half of that real estate gained on the ground. But quarterback Trevor Lawrence was sacked three times and lost one of his two fumbles.
What to make of Big Blue? Patrick Graham’s defensive unit has seemingly taken a step backwards for the most part and scoring points has been an issue as well. But the Giants’ three victories have been against the Saints (at New Orleans in overtime), the Panthers and the formidable Raiders.
On the plus side, Joe Judge’s club has come up with 14 takeaways in nine games. But quarterback Daniel Jones and New York’s offense has been erratic at best.
Matt Nagy’s club is in the midst of a four-game losing streak after a controversial Monday night loss at Pittsburgh. The Bears finished with 12 accepted penalties for 11 yards. It overshadowed a game effort by rookie quarterback Justin Fields, who threw for 291 yards and one score (1 interception).
But only the Houston Texans were averaging fewer yards per game entering Week 10. The Bears’ offensive unit has scored only 14 touchdowns in nine games.
Last week, the Dolphins snapped a seven-game losing streak via an ugly win over the visiting Texans. Brian Flores’ team was back in action four days later and took on the Ravens in prime time. And an aggressive Miami defense limited Baltimore to 304 total yards and 10 points.
The ‘Fins came up with two key takeaways, including a 49-yard fumble return for a score by cornerback Xavien Howard. And Tua Tagovailoa was solid in relief of Jacoby Brissett.
