2021 NFL power rankings, Week 11: Cowboys, Packers, Bills rebound
The unpredictable Broncos have already won as many games as they did all of last season. Now Vic Fangio’s club hosted the Eagles. Denver’s defense had few answers for a Philadelphia offense that rolled up 386 total yards, including 214 on the ground.
Fangio’s running game managed only 96 yards and Teddy Bridgewater would throw for 226 yards. After forging a 10-all tie in the second quarter, the Broncos were outscored 20-3 the rest of the way.
With Sam Darnold out with a shoulder injury (via CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani), the franchise brought back Cam Newton. P.J. Walker would get the start Sunday at Arizona but Newton made his presence felt early in a situational role.
He ran for one score and threw for another as Matt Rhule’s team controlled the ball for 37:42. Linebacker Hasson Reddick had 1.5 of the team’s four sacks. And the other three teams in the NFC South all lost on Sunday.
Sean Payton’s perplexing team headed to Nashville to take on the red-hot Titans. Trevor Siemian was back at the controls and he would throw for 298 yards and a pair of scores. But he was also sacked four times and the Saints’ running game, minus Alvin Kamara, was limited to 87 yards on 21 attempts.
The Saints fell behind 20-6 in the third quarter and mounted a rally but came within a missed two-point conversion from sending the game into overtime.
