2. Danny Duffy

This past season, Danny Duffy was supposed to be an addition to add to the Dodgers’ embarrassment of riches as they acquired the left-hander at the trade deadline. Unfortunately for them, Duffy was unable to make even a single appearance in Los Angeles as he was almost immediately injured upon the trade being completed.

Prior to the injury and while he was with the Royals, though, Duffy looked the part of an absolute ace in Kansas City. Though he posted only a meager 4-3 record, that speaks more to the talent that was around him than what he was doing on the bump.

In 12 starts for the Royals, Duffy had a phenomenal 2.51 ERA and even looked impressive by advanced metrics with a 3.40 FIP.

While the Braves are certainly thankful from the NLCS that the Dodgers didn’t have the luxury of utilizing Duffy’s services, they could doubly reap the benefits by signing him this offseason. Coming off his injury, the 32-year-old could be looking at a modest prove-it deal, likely a one-year pact. That should fit what Atlanta is looking for almost ideally, thus creating an obvious match between the two parties.
