18. Mercedes Benz Stadium (Atlanta Falcons)

This is one of the most unique concepts that any stadium has around the NFL. Mercedes Benz Stadium’s roof opens in the center like the eye of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings. The overall design of the stadium seems like it’s built around that feature, and it actually looks really good.

When the roof is opened, it looks like an oscillating fan. It’s a very modern design that looks unique. The rest of the exterior features a lot of jagged-edged pieces, which I’m not crazy about, but it doesn’t ruin the stadium as a whole.

The field has a lot of great things going for it. The turf looks great under the red and black seats. When the roof is open, the sun gives it that extra shine. The Falcon logo is huge, and I’ve always been a fan of that logo. To bring it all together, the black end zones with the letters “ATL” in the middle look very crisp. The acronym is flanked by the words “Atlanta” and “Falcons” on either side, which gives it a good symmetry.

Mercedes Benz Stadium, overall, is good. If the exterior was better, it would be higher.
