New York Yankees fans are going nuts after Peter Gammons may have just taken to Twitter to reveal his free agency decision.

Is Justin Verlander on his way to the Big Apple? Over the past week, rumors and reports have continued to swirl about the veteran hurler’s future. He’s received plenty of interest, with the New York Yankees of course on the list of suitors.

Well, did MLB insider Peter Gammons just let the cat out of the bag and inform everyone of where he’s headed for the 2022 campaign? In a tweet reply, Gammons sure makes it seem like Verlander will be Bronx-bound.

Justin Verlander rumors: Is he headed to the Bronx?

If we’re readying that post from Gammons correctly, he’s insinuating AL East rivals believe that Verlander has indeed made up his mind and he’s ready to take the bump for Aaron Boone and Co.

However, nothing has been made official yet and other teams are hoping to land Verlander over New York. When healthy, Verlander has been nothing short of sensational. However, he underwent Tommy John Surgery and had to sit out the 2021 campaign.

The last time we saw Verlander toss a full campaign, he went 21-6 in 2019 and made 34 total starts. He posted a 2.58 ERA in 223 innings of work. Despite his injury setback, Verlander is hyped to get back on the field and cause plenty of frustration for opposing hitters.

It’s looking like his days in Houston are done. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if Gammons is spot on with his tweet about Verlander going to New York, or if the righty will pull a fast one and end up signing elsewhere. Stay tuned, baseball fans.
