New York Yankees

Expectations are always high for the New York Yankees and they’re willing to spend plenty of money to make sure they can win. The Yankees haven’t really had the success they’ve wanted to have for more than a decade as they haven’t been to the World Series since they won it back in 2009.

Could someone like Ray step in and get New York back to where it wants to be? Absolutely. Will he be willing to do that? That remains to be seen.

Should Ray make the move to join New York, he’d be joining another talented and dominant starter in Gerrit Cole, who is being paid a ton of money by the Yankees. Adding Ray to a starting rotation that already features one of the best pitchers the MLB has to offer would be a huge step forward for New York.

It would also make them an absolutely terrifying team to play against at literally any point, but that would be especially true in the postseason.

Toronto Blue Jays

As Ray considers all of his options, he should take a good look at Toronto. Why not stick with the Blue Jays for a little while longer?

Sure, Toronto isn’t exactly the best team in baseball right now, but they have improved considerably and just won 91 games this past season. It’s certainly possible that the Blue Jays will continue to improve moving forward and they’ll need a talented pitcher to continue to lead them forward.

In theory, Ray could be the sort of guy that helps Toronto get back to the World Series, assuming the Blue Jays continue on the trend they’re currently on that is.

Even though he hasn’t been with Toronto for very long, Ray is already familiar with the organization and his teammates. Should the Blue Jays make a good enough offer, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Ray to consider sticking around for a few more years and seeing just how far this team can go.
