John Morrison, Hit Row and more stars released by WWE
By Scott Rogust
After releasing 18 stars earlier this month, WWE has parted ways with more talent on Thursday night.
On Nov. 4, WWE announced the release of 18 of their stars, including Keith Lee, Karrion Kross and Ember Moon, the same day the company revealed their Third Quarter earnings in a conference call. Sadly, that was not the last of their roster cuts this month.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, WWE has released John Morrison, Hit Row (Top Dolla, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Ashante Adonis), Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne and Jaxson Ryker on Thursday night.
Talent Relations Director John Laurinaitis “cited budget cuts as the reason within the email” sent to talent, per Sapp.
John Morrison, Hit Row and more released by WWE on Thursday
Hit Row was recently called up from NXT to the Smackdown brand in October as part of the WWE Draft. B-Fab, who was part of the on-screen group, was released by the company earlier this month. Now, Hit Row is no longer with the company.
Morrison rejoined the company in late 2019 following his first stint (2002-2011). He won the SmackDown Tag Team championships with The Miz in early-2020 and the two took on Damian Priest and rapper Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37 earlier this year. Morrison is a former three-time Intercontinental champion and ECW champion.
Nox was called up from NXT to the SmackDown brand in a tag team alongside Shotzi Blackheart in July. The two were split up in October’s draft, with Nox going to RAW and Blackheart staying on SmackDown.
