College football rankings 2021: Projected Week 13 AP Top 25 after Oregon gets steamrolled, Alabama survives and Ohio State shines
14. Texas A&M Aggies
It’s been a season of inconsistency, high-highs followed by low-lows, for Texas A&M but their matchup against Prairie View A&M was never going to be in doubt. This was a cupcake game before the Aggies finish up their season next week in the rivalry matchup against LSU and the contest on Saturday definitely fit that bill with the way things transpired.
In a relatively easy 52-3 rout of their opponents, Texas A&M made no mistake that they’re one of the better teams in the SEC. Unfortunately, they’re now just left waiting which bowl game they’re going to be heading to as Jimbo Fisher’s team is well out of the SEC Championship. Still, it’s good to see them finish the season strong.
13. UTSA Roadrunners
Up against perhaps the best team they’ve played this season, the undefeated Roadrunners were going back and forth with a quite good UAB team on Saturday trying to keep a zero in the loss column. And thanks to a last-minute touchdown pass from Frank Harris to Oscar Cardenas from one yard out, UTSA remained perfect on the season.
UTSA is never going to be up in the College Football Playoff rankings thanks to an incredibly and shockingly poor strength of schedule. Yet, a team can only win the games that are on their schedule and the Roadrunners have done that again and again and again. They wrap their season on the road against an up-and-down North Texas team but have a chance to leave a lasting imprint on the 2021 season.
