2. Kenny Pickett – Pitt

Of all the wild things to happen in college football season, the emergence of Kenny Pickett has been one of them. His career-high numbers were 3,098 yards with a 61.6 percent completion rate and 13 touchdowns prior to this season. With one game left, he’s completing 67.1 percent of his throws for 3,857 yards and 36 touchdowns with only six interceptions.

Not one is going to be overwhelmed by Pickett’s physical abilities but it’s obvious that the hometown kid has developed and progressed throughout his time with the Panthers. He’s a leader on the field and that’s clear whenever you see his team around him. Throw in some nice athleticism and what he’s put on tape this season, it’s hard to not think he’d be a natural successor to Big Ben with the Steelers.

1. Matt Corral – Ole Miss

If Steelers fans are truly looking for a big change from what they’ve gotten out of Big Ben in recent years, then Matt Corral might be their guy. No, he doesn’t have a cannon arm or the size of Roethlisberger but his tool chest is plenty full.

Though undersized, Corral has a nice arm with elite accuracy to all levels of the field. In fact, the fact that he’s put up over 3,000 yards (along with over 500 rushing yards) and 29 total touchdowns is actually disappointing considering plays his receivers let him down on.

Pittsburgh would be getting a warrior and leader in Corral who can make every throw but also offer impressive mobility to both run or extend plays. They need that type of shot in the arm for the future of their offense.
