2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Angels have Freddie Freeman on their radar, reportedly meeting with Freeman’s reps to discuss the potential of bringing him to the West Coast.

But another Los Angeles team that could haul in Freeman is none other than the Los Angeles Dodgers — the NL rival that prevented a Braves championship in 2020 and nearly kept them from winning the World Series in 2021.

Playoff rivalries aside, it would be a smart move for Freeman if the Dodgers are willing to pay him. Freeman could get the money he desires while playing for a top-tier MLB team that frequents the playoffs with an elite roster.

While the Dodgers already have Max Muncy at first base, Muncy could move over to second to make room for the obvious upgrade.

And with Corey Seager, Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen and others fielding offers from other teams, the Dodgers could secure a first baseman by signing Freeman. It’s unlikely all these stars will return to L.A., so the Dodgers could move forward and get Freeman as they replenish their roster.

If they do, it’s very possible the Braves could get sent home early once again come NL Playoffs.
