5 bold predictions for Packers against Rams
1. Aaron Rodgers will be sacked 5 times
The biggest concern for Green Bay heading into this game should be their ability to keep Rodgers upright. The Rams have a ferocious front seven and injuries are really starting to become a problem for the Packers up front.
The team will be forced to rely on their third choice left tackle since injuries will sideline both David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins in this one. Losing Jenkins to a torn ACL in the Vikings game really puts Matt LaFleur and his offensive coaching staff in a bind moving forward.
The Packers will try to scheme ways to get the ball out of Rodgers’ hands early to blunt the opposing pass rush. In an ideal world, they’d probably draw up plays to move him outside the pocket. Unfortunately, Rodgers’ own toe injury makes that a non-starter for Green Bay at this point in the season.
The combination of Rodgers’ lack of mobility and Green Bay’s lack of talent up front spells disaster for the Packers’ pass protection up front in this one. Rodgers will be hurried and harassed all day long. Five sacks from the Rams defense could be what leads Sean McVay’s team to a valuable road victory.
