Former Brave Mark Melancon is available

Mark Melancon was in the Braves’ bullpen in 2019 and 2020 before signing with the San Diego Padres in 2021 as a free agent. He finds himself back on the market looking for a new home, and the Braves fit the mold. In 2021, Melancon appeared in 64 games. He registered a 2.23 ERA in 64.2 innings while racking up 39 saves. He had a solid year in the midst of a Padres team unable to meet high expectations.

The Braves bullpen was surprisingly solid in the postseason after a tough start in 2021. Most importantly, they were on lock down when the World Series came.

If starters Max Fried, Charlie Morton, Ian Anderson, and perhaps Mike Soroka can consistently give the team 5-6 solid innings, a bullpen including a 2021 caliber Melancon and company would certainly be tough to compete against.
