College football upset picks Championship Week No. 1: Georgia

Rank: 1 | Opponent: vs. Alabama +6.5 | Time: Saturday, Dec. 4, 4 p.m. ET

Alabama survived Auburn in triple overtime last week, and now they get the best team in the country for their troubles. Alabama has a slight chance to make the College Football Playoff with a second loss, but it’s far from a guarantee.

The most talented player on the field is still Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. He hasn’t been as great as some recent Alabama quarterbacks but he’s still the front-runner for the Heisman.

Georgia is undefeated and they never really had a close matchup outside of the season-opening 10-3 win vs. then-No. 3 Clemson. Will Alabama be the first team to really give Kirby Smart’s team a game and put them on upset alert?

Can Georgia prove they are as good as it seems when they face one of the top teams in the nation?
