3 quarterbacks the Vikings can draft to replace Kirk Cousins
Kenny Pickett
Kenny Pickett’s 2021 season had him rising up the rankings of quarterbacks for the NFL draft and he’s likely to end up a first-round pick because of it.
The interesting thing about Pickett is he’s not going to have evaluators salivating over his arm strength or measurables. He’s just a really, really good quarterback.
Pickett put Pitt in the Top 25 ranking with 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He was the Panthers offense, even adding five touchdowns and 241 yards on the ground with his legs.
Pickett’s steady improvement through his college career is a good sign. He followed the Joe Burrow trajectory, finding his own before capping it with a stellar campaign. Obviously, he didn’t compete for a national title, but he got the Pitt offense to average 43 points per game. That’s something.
For the Vikings, Pickett could represent a strong selection in the mid-teens.
