3 quarterbacks the Vikings can draft to replace Kirk Cousins
Malik Willis
Liberty’s Malik Willis could be a high-risk-high-reward prospect considering the level he’s played at in college. However, he has undeniable arm strength and great athleticism. Change the level of competition and those things aren’t going away.
Corral and Pickett are likely to get picked ahead of Willis. However, he could benefit from being selected later in the draft and being given time to develop in the pros. Falling in the draft order is likely the best result for him in the long run.
Minnesota could be set up perfectly for a QB like Willis. He would be able to come in and sit behind Cousins for at least a year while polishing up his skill set. He wouldn’t need to be thrown into the fire right away.
Willis threw for 2,626 yards and 24 touchdowns with 12 interceptions in 2021. His ceiling is much higher than that especially with more talent around him.
After years of Cousins hitting his own ceiling, Vikings fans could look forward to some excitement with Willis or some other new quarterback taking the reins.
