1. Eric Bieniemy

As a coach who probably should already have a head coaching gig somewhere in the NFL, Eric Bieniemy should be every franchise’s top head coaching option this offseason. Bieniemy has helped Andy Reid turn the Kansas City Chiefs into an offensive powerhouse and there’s a real chance he could do the same for the Vikings if given the opportunity.

Bieniemy has been Kansas City’s offensive coordinator for a few seasons now, accepting the position in 2018. Prior to that, Bieniemy acted as Kansas City’s running back coach, holding that position from 2013 through 2017.

Minnesota would be a fairly familiar franchise for Bieniemy as the Vikings gave him his NFL coaching start back in 2006, when he got started as their running backs coach, a position he held through 2009.

In 2010, Bieniemy spent a season as Minnesota’s assistant head coach and running backs coach.

This year, Kansas City’s offense has experienced a few ups and downs, but it’s generally been very explosive and productive. The Chiefs have been scoring 25.5 points per game this year while also gaining 402.4 yards per game.

Bieniemy has had the benefit of working with talented stars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, but his offense has also helped elevate what they’ve been able to accomplish.

If he can get some talent to work with in Minnesota, there’s a chance he could help the Vikings have one of the best offenses in the NFL. He just needs the opportunity to do that.
