2. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 14 – New Orleans Saints QB Taysom Hill

One of the unique revelations of this fantasy football season is the increased value that rushing yards can have for a quarterback in your league. Hurts has been an average passer for the Eagles that has provided QB1 value with his rushing yards, a skill set that is widely available on your waiver wire with Saints’ starter Taysom Hill.

A foot injury kept Hill from assuming the starting job after Jameis Winston’s injury but he produced a usable fantasy line in Week 13 despite throwing four interceptions against the Dallas Cowboys. Hill rushed for 101 yards on the day and threw for another 264 yards with two scores, delivering over 25 fantasy points in standard leagues.

The concern here with Hill is that he suffered a fractured finger in the game that is similar to the injury that forced Russell Wilson to undergo surgery that knocked him out for three games. The plan, for now, is for Hill to play through the injury, which wouldn’t affect his ability to run the ball and contribute to your fantasy lineup that way.

Hill is rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo leagues and is a recommended plug-and-play streamer for his Week 14 matchup against the Jets, who just gave up 185 yards on the ground to the Eagles on Sunday. The injury risk is definitely scary but if your regular starter has a tough matchup it could be worth rolling the dice on Hill to hope he delivers a better outing than he had a week ago, which was already a serviceable QB1 line.
