NFL power rankings, Week 14: Lions win (not a typo)
The Ravens made their way to Pittsburgh as the club played the second of three straight games vs. their divisional foes. Lamar Jackson had his issues early but led the team to a 7-0 lead via a 99-yard touchdown drive in the first half.
But Baltimore allowed 17 fourth-quarter points and fell behind 20-19 with 1:48 to play. Jackson threw a TD pass to Sammy Watkins with 12 seconds remaining but failed on a two-point conversion toss to Mark Andrews.
A year ago, Sean McDermott’s club became the first AFC East team to sweep the Patriots since the Dolphins and Jets turned the trick in 2000. Now the Bills find themselves trailing New England by a half-game in the division standings.
Josh Allen comes off a solid outing on Thanksgiving night at New Orleans, throwing for 260 yards and four scores. But he also served up two more interceptions and that plays into the hands of the Pats’ defense.
The team headed to Atlanta minus wide receiver Antonio Brown (who did not play in the previous 5 games) and cornerback Mike Edwards for violating COVID-19 protocol.
The Bucs came into this game focusing on the passing game and Tom Brady would hit on 38 of his 51 attempts for 368 yards and four scores – two to tight end Rob Gronkowski. He did serve up a pick-six. But Tampa’s pass rush racked up five sacks of quarterback Matt Ryan.
