Top 30 plays in NFL history
9. Mike Jones’ Super Bowl winning tackle
The Rams entered the 1999 season as the least likely of Super Bowl contenders, and ended up as champions. Kurt Warner went from backup to NFL MVP and was the leader of The Greatest Show on Turf. The Rams went 13-3 and fielded the best offense in the NFL.
The Titans had a dynamic team in their own right. Steve McNair was an emerging young quarterback, and Eddie George was one of the best running backs in football.
The Rams built up a 16-0 lead, but the Titans came storming back to tie the game. A long Issac Bruce touchdown put the Rams back on top by seven. The Titans marched down the field on the final drive, where it came down to the last play. McNair hit Kevin Dyson over the middle before he was wrapped up by linebacker Mike Jones. Dyson extended as far as he could, but ultimately fell one yard short of the end zone, clinching the victory for the Rams.
The tackle capped off an incredible magic carpet ride for the Rams, as Warner won Super Bowl MVP after throwing for over 400 yards and two touchdowns on the night.
