Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Micah Parsons is getting better each week and his showing against Washington should have him in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation.

What Micah Parsons has been able to accomplish thus far this season for the Dallas Cowboys has been wild. The man is basically a lock to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. With that said, let’s not just limit the standout linebacker to just that.

While there’s still several guys in contention, what about the Defensive Player of the Year for Parsons here? It’s hard to think that a first-year player could go out and win it, but Parsons has been that big of a beast this year. His outstanding play has continued on Sunday against the Washington Football Team.

Micah Parsons has been a savage for the Dallas Cowboys

In the first half alone against Washington, Parsons had two sacks and nearly recorded an interception. His first big play of the game came when he leveled Taylor Heinicke and forced a fumble. Dallas went on to take that back to the house for a touchdown.

Since then, Washington’s offense has been downright awful against Dallas. Parsons is continuing to fly into the backfield to put pressure on Heinicke. He’s making life a nightmare for Washington’s offensive line and running back Antonio Gibson.

That has been the case throughout the year for Parsons in facing the opposition. Entering Sunday’s meeting with Washington, Parsons had posted 72 total tackles and 10 sacks. Those numbers continue to grow.

Yes, guys like T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett and several others will hope to win the prestigious award too, but Parsons is going to make it tough for them. This kid is the real deal and the fact that he’s only 13 games into his professional career is insane.
