NFL power rankings, Week 15: Chiefs roll, Browns escape
It’s been a down year in the Pacific Northwest as the Seahawks are at the bottom of the NFC West standings. And incredibly, the team was looking for its first two-game winning streak of the season when the team traveled to Houston.
Rashaad Penny ran for 137 yards and two scores, Russell Wilson threw for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Seattle played turnover-free football. The ‘Hawks rolled up 453 total yards in the 20-point win.
It was a short week for Mike Tomlin’s team as the Steelers traveled to Minnesota for a Thursday night clash with the Vikings. Pittsburgh was outgained a combined 300-66 in the first half and trailed 29-0 in the third quarter.
Ben Roethlisberger overcame five sacks and an interception and finished with 308 yards and three scores. Down by eight points, Pittsburgh made a late drive but rookie Pat Freiermuth couldn’t hold onto a pass in the end zone.
It’s been an uneven year when it comes to first-time NFL head coach Nick Sirianni and a team that has been explosive at times and shaky at others. But the Birds are right in the middle of the muddled NFC playoff picture.
The Eagles have dug themselves a bit of a hole when it comes to catching the Cowboys for a division title via a 0-2 mark vs. their NFC East rivals. But this sneaky team has proven it can put points on the board on a steady basis.
