22. 2013 Denver Broncos

2013 was Peyton Manning’s masterpiece. He broke just about every single-season passing record. He threw for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns in his second season with Denver.

Needless to say it was a good year for the Broncos offense. They were first in total offense. They racked up a remarkable 7,317 yards of offense, and also led the NFL in points with 606. It was truly something the NFL had never seen before in terms of pure dominance by an offensive unit.

There are a few things keeping the 2013 Broncos from being higher on the list. For starters, their defense was pedestrian. They were 22nd in points allowed with 399, and they were 19th in total yards allowed. They didn’t produce many takeaways either, which really put the load on the Broncos offense to carry Denver to wins.

The Broncos also got embarrassed by Seattle in the Super Bowl by a score of 43-8. It is one of the most disappointing performances in Super Bowl history. That said, the offensive juggernaut that the Broncos were can’t be ignored, and they deserve a spot on the list for that alone. It was the best season of one of the best quarterbacks of all time, and might be the best offense in NFL history.
