2022 NFL Mock Draft: Top edge rushers kick off first round, go 1-2

Picks No. 23 through 25

player. 13. . Defensive Tackle. Los Angeles Chargers. Jordan Davis. 23

This past weekend, the Los Angeles Chargers had the luxury of taking on the New York Giants at home. The Giants went into that game banged up, especially at quarterback, as Daniel Jones was injured, and the G-Men had to roll with Mike Glennon under center.

Well, the Chargers rolled and going forward, they look like a real team to beat in the AFC West, and the AFC as a whole. With this pick, one that could be even later in April, they add talent to an already strong defensive line, bringing in a run-stopping machine in Jordan Davis from Georgia.

. Quarterback. Detroit Lions. Malik Willis. 24. player. 50

The Detroit Lions currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, so if they really fall in love with a quarterback, that could be the play for them. However, there is no clear No. 1 overall pick-type quarterback in this draft class, so they could decide to go with the best player available and get a quarterback later in round one.

That is the move in our latest mock draft, as they can get Malik Willis with the No. 24 overall selection, the pick they got from the Los Angeles Rams for Matthew Stafford. Willis has a ton of arm talent, and possibly the most upside in this class at the position, but can he develop with such a bad franchise?

Drake Jackson. 25. player. 26. . Edge. Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens saw starting quarterback Lamar Jackson get hurt early on in their loss to the Cleveland Browns, but were still able to nearly knock off their division rival. The Ravens are a team to beat in 2021, and many expect Lamar to be back at it in Week 15, so they should still be able to roll to an AFC North title.

Picking at No. 25 overall, the Ravens go with a defensive stud from USC, selecting edge rusher Drake Jackson. I believe this is another kid who could rocket up the first round with a good pre-draft season, and with Baltimore, he would become a dominant player early on.
