2022 NFL Mock Draft: Top edge rushers kick off first round, go 1-2
Picks No. 26 through 28
The Dallas Cowboys may have won against the Washington Football Team on Sunday, but they have some serious issues right now. Dak Prescott has been underwhelming, to say the least, and if he plays the way he did in Week 14, I do not see this team going too far come playoff time.
One bright spot for the Cowboys on defense this season has been rookie Micah Parsons, who may be the best defensive player in the NFL. In round one of 2022, the Cowboys add another Big Ten talent to the fold, bringing in Michigan edge rusher David Ojabo.
The Kansas City Chiefs are once again rolling through the AFC, and on Sunday, they absolutely embarrassed the Las Vegas Raiders. With a strip of Josh Jacobs on the first play from scrimmage and a recovery for a touchdown, the Chiefs set the tone and ended up with the most lopsided victory in the history of the rivalry.
Come playoff time, Patrick Mahomes and company are going to be one of the final teams standing and will be picking late in round one next April. With the pick, Kansas City gets Mahomes another weapon in the passing game, adding USC standout Drake London, a perfect complement to Tyreek Hill.
Playing host to division rival Los Angeles with a playoff spot on the line in Week 14, the Arizona Cardinals came out on the wrong side of the decision. Still, they can earn a playoff spot next weekend, and when all is said and done, Kyler Murray and company are going to be a hard out come playoff time.
Picking late in round one, Arizona looks to get better in the secondary, and they do so by adding Roger McCreary from Auburn. Arizona is young, talented, and deep, so even if they do not get to the Super Bowl this season, they should be solid for a very long time.
