If Steve Sarkisian fails, then Coach Prime has to be the one to bring Texas back

Anybody who leads the Texas football team will be judged on his ability to bring the program back, or not. For now, Steve Sarkisian brings his pitiful 4-8 record after one year in Austin riddled with monkey business and blown leads. Should Texas decide to tarmac him like his USC predecessor, there is only one name to call: Coach Prime! He is an undisputed Dallas Cowboys legend after all.

Not only did Sanders win a Super Bowl in Dallas, but he spent a good bit of his post-playing career living there. With his children now playing at the college level (for him), Sanders is well aware of the recruiting landscape in Texas. Furthermore, he would be uniting the two biggest brands and fanbases in the state under one umbrella. Longhorns football may never be the same after this.

The only thing cooler than Frost is Coach Prime making Nebraska cool again

Remember when Nebraska football mattered? While most high school prospects have no idea what the Cornhuskers were like at their apex, Sanders sure does. As chosen son Scott Frost continues to flounder in Lincoln, Sanders is more than doubling his win total at Jackson State annually. Frost may be one of them, but Sanders could get kids to want to play at Nebraska.

While leaving the Big 12 for the Big Ten for financial reasons made sense, it cut off the rich Texas recruiting base that used to feed the Nebraska program. For now, Nebraska has to recruit on a national level to have any chance. It is a bold strategy, but if anybody can do it, it is Sanders. He just landed Travis Hunter out of Georgia to get him to come play for him over at Jackson State.

After embarrassing Florida State, let Coach Prime come fix his alma mater

As if things could not possibly get worse, Florida State just suffered its second loss to a school with Jackson in its name in the same calendar year. Losing to Jacksonville State on a Hail Mary was embarrassing, but losing the top recruit in the country to one of the greatest players in program history is catastrophic. Mike Norvell might be a fine head coach, but this fanbase is absolutely livid.

While some fans will hate Sanders for the rest of time for getting Hunter to flip, what if he brings Hunter with him upon being named Norvell’s replacement at the end of next year? Sanders knows first-hand what excellence looks like at Florida State. Though he will be facing immense pressure, it would be amazing if he is the one to return the Seminoles to national prominence once again.

Someone will take a chance on Sanders in the coming years, but will it be any of these programs?
