8. and 9. Chase Edmonds and James Conner – Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a Monday night loss to the Los Angeles Rams, and they will be motivated to bounce back. Luckily for them, they are facing the lowly Detroit Lions this week. They are not good against opposing running backs. Well, they aren’t good against anything really. Chase Edmonds should return this week, but we thought he was coming back last week so who knows.

James Conner is a pretty good bet to start each week. He’s definitely not efficient, but he almost always scores. There have been four weeks all season he didn’t have a touchdown, and two were the first two weeks of the season when nobody was starting him. He’s had two touchdowns in five different games, and now he’s facing a Lions team that has given up 22 total touchdowns to running backs this season.

7. Rashaad Penny – Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks backfield has been anyone’s guess this season after Chris Carson was lost for the season. Alex Collins, Travis Homer, and even Adrian Peterson got a turn as the starting running back. Last week, the original backup Rashaad Penny showed he’s still the best option outside of Chris Carson.

Penny is a former first-round pick who is trying to live up to his hype. He had a huge game last week with 137 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans. This week, he really has to prove it against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are riding high after beating the Cardinals on national television. It is up to Penny to lead the Seahawks offense to an upset in the NFC West.
