2. DJ Chark, wide receiver

With Allen Robinson II hitting free agency, wide receiver could become a major need for the Bears. The upcoming free-agent class should have plenty of options, including Michael Gallup and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

However, DJ Chark could be the best fit for the Bears. At 6’4″, Chark is an excellent target in the red zone, which is something the Bears are missing. Chark also has game-breaking speed; he ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash at the 2018 NFL combine. He would be a nice complement to Darnell Mooney.

Chark has struggled with injuries in his four-year career. Right now, he is on the injured reserve with a fractured right ankle. His injury history might affect his free-agent value, which could make him a better value signing than Gallup this offseason.

Nevertheless, Chark has proven himself to be an elite wide receiver when he is on the field. In 2019, he had 1,008 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. Those numbers are extremely impressive, considering Jacksonville’s offense was 26th in the NFL in points per game.

At age 25, Chark could be a franchise cornerstone for years to come. He is a great pickup for the present and the future.
