1. Ben Roethlisberger

Oh, Steelers fans knew this was coming. Roethlisberger will always be a legend in Pittsburgh. Yet, time and time again he has showcased his climbing age with his play on the field. Yes, he’s had some great contests and fired off some great touchdowns in 2021.

But at the same time, he has also thrown some ducks out there. He just doesn’t have the same kind of arm strength that he used to. His throwing style is almost reminiscent of Drew Brees’ final days. Remember when Brees lost nearly all his velocity on this throws? That’s what things are looking like for Big Ben.

Earlier in the year, reports surfaced stating that Roethlisberger had begun to tell teammates and close family/friends that he’ll be retiring at the end of the season. Then, Roethlisberger came out and said he’s still thinking things over and he’ll decide after the campaign.

At this point, though, it’s been made more than clear that it’s time for Roethlisberger to hang up his cleats. He just doesn’t have it anymore. If the Steelers miss out on the playoffs too, it will only add pressure on Roethlisberger to move on. He’s had a sensational career, but he has no business being on the field come 2022.
