Every NFL team’s most overrated player of all time
Indianapolis Colts: Jeff George
He may have had an incredible mullet and a great mustache, but George was a pain in the locker room to several teams, and the Colts were no exception.
George may not have been overrated by fans and media as much as he was by the Colts front office, who gave up Andre Rison and Chris Hinton, both of which were very good players, to get him. The talent was evident with George.
Many have said that he had one of the best pure arm talents they have ever seen. He had great arm strength and threw as pretty a ball as anyone in the NFL, he just never got off the ground and was constantly starting over. In four years with the Colts, George went 14-35 as a starter with 41 touchdowns and 46 interceptions.
George was sent to Atlanta prior to the 1994 season. The Colts gave up a lot to get the big-armed quarterback out of Purdue, but it didn’t pay off as Indianapolis and George struggled to find any success. George bounced around the NFL for the remainder of his career, finding some late-career success with Randy Moss and the Vikings in 1999.
