New Orleans Saints: Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush was actually really productive in his first season with the Saints. He had over 1,200 yards from scrimmage, including 742 receiving yards on 88 catches as a running back. In his second season he missed four games, but still put up similar production from his rookie season in 2006.

The inability to stay healthy plagued Bush for the remainder of his time in New Orleans. He missed six games in 2008 and his production saw a dip as a result of it. He only missed two games in 2009, but his numbers slid down that season. In 2010, Bush missed eight games in what would turn out to be his last year with the Saints.

It’s not that Bush was ever a bad player, but when you draft a guy No. 2 overall after he had one of the best careers in college football history, you expect big things. The Saints expected a Hall of Fame type player. Bush, more or less, was an athletic dual-threat who fit in the offense, but he was never looked at as one of the league’s best players. He had a brief late-career resurgence in Miami and Detroit, but his time with the Saints was underwhelming.
