Cleveland Browns: Odell Beckham Jr

Alright, we might as well just get this whole situation out of the way. Odell Beckham is vastly talented and quite frankly, hasn’t deserved what both the Browns and Giants did to him.

Beckham earned a big contract extension from the Giants, only for them to trade him into a system who didn’t know how to use him properly. From 2014-16, Beckham was the man. He made it to three consecutive Pro Bowls, had over 1,300 receiving yards each season, and established himself as one of the game’s elite receivers.

Injuries stunted his next two seasons with the Giants, and he was traded to Cleveland in 2019. The Browns’ 2019 season can be summed up with the phrase “Head coach Freddie Kitchens” so that should tell you how Odell’s season went. He caught 74 passes and eclipsed 1,000 yards, but his frustrations were obvious.

Now with the Rams, Beckham already seems to be doing better than he ever did in Cleveland. His fit in Sean McVay’s high-flying offense fits him much better than the Browns run-centric gameplan ever did. Here’s to hoping Los Angeles is the right spot for him as he tries to find his true home.
