FanDuel NFL 2021: Best lineup for Week 16
Flex: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons-$6,500
St. Brown has 11-plus targets, at least eight receptions and over 70 yards in three straight games, totaling 26 catches on 35 targets with two touchdowns over that span. There is a question about who the Lions’ quarterback will be as of this writing, with Jared Goff on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but St. Brown is still on the radar here.
The Atlanta Falcons are allowing the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers this season (31.7 per game). Their entire defense is not good, but the secondary is lacking in talent beyond cornerback A.J. Terrell.
St. Brown’s upside will be hurt if Goff is unable to play and Tim Boyle has to start. But I still like him enough to keep him here, and the NFL’s new protocols have the door open for Goff to play on Sunday as of this writing.
Team Defense: Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants-$5,000
On each side of their Week 14 bye, the Eagles have allowed 18 points or less in five of their last seven games (and three in a row). Their Week 16 matchup is quite good.
After going with Mike Glennon in place of Daniel Jones (neck, now out for the season), the New York Giants are considering starting Jake Fromm under center going forward. Fromm completed six of 12 passes for 82 yards in his first career regular-season action in Week 15, and he really can’t be any worse than Glennon.
The Giants may get Kadarius Toney back off the COVID-19 list this week, but in the seemingly weekly injury to their wide receiver group, they lost Sterling Shepard to a torn Achilles in Week 15.
The Eagles held the Giants to 13 points with one sack and no takeaways back in Week 12. It’s not a stretch to say they’ll allow fewer points, with a handful of takeaways and sacks, this time around.
