Picks No. 19 through 22

Cornerback. Minnesota Vikings. Ahmad Gardner. 19. player. 60.

The Minnesota Vikings are an interesting team heading into the playoff race, as Kirk Cousins has played at a high level, and Dalvin Cook appears to be getting healthier. They have had their issues on the defensive side of the ball, including at cornerback, where they recently released Bashaud Breeland after an altercation with teammates and coaches.

To make up for this loss, they could target the cornerback room in the 2022 NFL Draft, and they get a great player here in Ahmad Gardner from Cincinnati. “Sauce” is a dynamic playmaker for the Bearcats and a real reason they are still alive for a national title.

16. . Defensive Tackle. Buffalo Bills. DeMarvin Leal. 20. player

The Buffalo Bills have an excellent chance to reassert themselves as the top team in the AFC East this week, as they take on the New England Patriots. Many felt that the Bills would run this division at the beginning of the season, but the Patriots have come to life, and this game has first place in the AFC East at stake.

Buffalo has a bunch of talent on both sides of the ball, but one area they could improve is on the interior of the defensive line. DeMarvin Leal is seen by some as a top-10 talent, so getting him at No. 20 overall would be a no-brainer for a franchise that is definitely trending in the right direction.

Miami Dolphins. Devin Lloyd. 21. player. 59. . Linebacker

Thanks to a trade they made with the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins hold the No. 21 overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Miami is one of the hottest teams in football right now, pushing themselves back into the playoff conversation, and it will be interesting to see how they close out the season.

Looking ahead, they have their issues, as does every team, but one area they certainly need to get better is at linebacker. In this draft class, there are not a ton of first-round guys at the position, but Devin Lloyd from Utah is definitely one of them and would be a steal this late in the first round.

Defensive Tackle. Los Angeles Chargers. Jordan Davis. 22. player. 13.

Looking at the AFC as a whole, the Los Angeles Chargers are definitely a team that could be one of the last teams standing when all is said and done. They have done a great job drafting in the first round as of late, adding an elite talent in Justin Herbert two years ago, setting themselves up at the most important position in sports for the foreseeable future.

On defense, the Chargers do have some needs, including along the interior of their defensive line. One player I could see going in the first round is Georgia big man Jordan Davis, who is adept at not only stopping the run but also being a menace in the backfield.
