The Kansas City Chiefs finally got some good news on the COVID-19 front, as Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce may be able to play against the Steelers.

With just a day until kickoff, the Chiefs could have two of Patrick Mahomes’ favorite weapons back in time to play the Steelers.

Pittsburgh’s secondary possesses two ballhawks in cornerback Joe Haden and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Despite Mahomes’ All-Pro ability, facing a pass-rush that includes T.J. Watt along with a tough secondary wouldn’t have been easy without his top weapons.

On Sunday, Mahomes could have both Hill and Kelce cleared to play. The former has been cleared to play, but Kelce remains up in the air.

Patrick Mahomes reacted to the news in kind.

Chiefs look to hold on to top spot in AFC

Winners of seven games in a row, the Chiefs are exactly where we thought they’d be at this point in the season — atop the conference. Their path was just an unusual one.

A win on Sunday would clinch the AFC West division for the Chiefs, so they have plenty of play for. Just last week they completed a memorable come-from-behind victory over the rival Chargers to put themselves in this position.

While Kelce’s status is far less predictable, Hill being available on the outside adds an insane element of speed for the Chiefs’ offense. The Steelers — nor any team in football for that matter — have a player in their secondary who can keep up with Tyreek. He’s the Cheetah for a reason.

Hill was one of season players added to the COVID-19 list on Tuesday. The Chiefs’ prospects have looked far better since then.
