Will Saints game vs. Dolphins get postponed from Monday due to COVID?
The Saints have almost two dozen players on the COVID list. Will the NFL have to postpone their Monday Night Football meeting with the Dolphins?
Few NFL teams are facing a COVID outbreak as big as the Saints this week with 21 players finding their way onto the COVID list ahead of their game with the Dolphins.
Linebacker Kwon Alexander was added late on Sunday, adding to the roster concerns.
Monday Night Football could have big playoff implications for both teams but the bigger question is whether or not the game will kick off at all.
Has the NFL postponed the Saints game vs. the Dolphins?
For now, the game is still slated to go on despite New Orleans’ major roster issues. Simply put, the NFL won’t want to postpone the Monday night action, so it’ll take something significant for the game to be moved or canceled.
Other games last week were pushed forward a couple of days to give teams the opportunity to get players cleared. However, a delay for MNF feels unlikely.
So long as the Saints are able to dress the 48 players they need on game day, expect the gam to be played.
Fletcher Mackel of NBC NOLA calculated on Twitter that New Orleans has 36 players available on the roster with 13 eligible to be elevated from the practice squad. As of Sunday night, they technically have enough bodies to go forward with the game.
If more players test positive on Monday, then things could get interesting.
