4. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 17 – Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard

The Green Bay Packers are clicking on all cylinders as they are closing in on home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. With Aaron Rodgers still playing at an elite level, getting in on his secondary weapons can be a good strategy for those who need help at the flex position in championship week.

One guy to grab off the wire is wide receiver Allen Lazard, who caught a touchdown in Green Bay’s Christmas day win over the Cleveland Browns. Lazard was targeted five times in the game, catching two passes for 45 yards, and added 13 yards rushing for good measure.

It has become clear that Rodgers trusts Lazard more than any of the Packers’ other secondary options as his target share has remained relatively consistent whenever he is healthy. Lazard also hit paydirt in Week 14 and narrowly missed a pair of touchdowns against Baltimore a week ago, a solid sign that he is a trusted target in the red zone if Davante Adams draws double teams.

Week 17 brings a primetime matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, who Rodgers lit up for 385 yards and four touchdowns earlier this season without Lazard available. Lazard, who is rostered in just 24 percent of Yahoo leagues, should get in on the fun this time as a worthy flex play for people in need of help there.
