NFL executive has bizarre reason Russell Wilson wouldn’t want a trade to Steelers

With the Seattle Seahawks recording a miserable campaign, the Russell Wilson trade rumors continue to heat up. 

What was supposed to be a big year for the Seattle Seahawks has been nothing short of abysmal. If you thought the rain in Seattle had folks feeling gloomy, the play of the Hawks has made things somehow even worse. It feels like star quarterback Russell Wilson has one foot out the door too.

With trade rumors flying left and right, could the Pittsburgh Steelers end up trying to land him? Per The Athletic’s Mike Sando, a league executive told him Wilson probably wouldn’t want to go there because he values his celebrity status too much.

So, people think Wilson wouldn’t want to go play for Mike Tomlin because Pittsburgh’s market isn’t big enough for him? That’s strange, but the man is married to Ciara and the two could prefer to head to a place where the lights are a bit brighter.

Wilson has been linked to the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, Chicago Bears and more. All three are major cities, with Wilson and Ciara not having to worry about that celebrity status too much.

With that said, you’d think Wilson’s top priority would be to try and win another Super Bowl. Take a look at the Giants for example. They’re more than just a quarterback away from putting themselves in a position to even make the postseason. Would he really want to play there?

At the end of the day, Wilson still has two more games left this season with the Seahawks. With no postseason in sight, he’ll play in those contests and then get an early start on his offseason training. From the moment the regular season ends, though, you already know potential trade destinations will be a consistent topic of conversation.
