Tight End: Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears ($3,400)

Cole Kmet has seen at least five targets in five straight games, and he’s becoming a steady weapon for rookie quarterback Justin Fields. His 6.5 targets per game rank 10th among tight ends over the last four weeks. His role is increasing, and he’s seen his production rise as a result.

Kmet faces the New York Giants 18th-ranked secondary, which doesn’t give him much of a matchup advantage. We’re banking on his recent uptick in production to give us a solid day.

Flex: Rashaad Penny, Seattle Seahawks ($6,100)

Rashaad Penny has came out of nowhere over the past couple weeks and forcefully taken over Seattle’s starting gig. He’s had games with 137 and 135 yards, and has seen 10 or more carries in his last four games. Needless to say, this all has translated to a surprise fantasy starter within this timeframe.

Penny takes on the Detroit Lions’ 27th-ranked run defense, where the game plan will likely be beating Detroit on the ground. We should expect another big day out of Penny, who has top-10 upside this week in a perfect setup.

Defense: Carolina Panthers ($3,000)

Depending on New Orleans’ COVID-19 situation, there may be another Ian Book start in the Saints’ future. If this is the case, the Panthers should feast on the Saints’ offense, similarly to what we saw from Miami in their Week 16 blowout win.

Carolina is a sneaky and cheap defense play this week, as they have the pieces to be a scrappy and tough defense regardless of who’s under center for New Orleans.
