Packers rumors: Tua Tagovailoa an Aaron Rodgers replacement?

Tagovailoa has responded well to trade rumors all season, with the Dolphins reportedly invested heavily in what happens to Houston Texas quarterback Deshaun Watson.

If Watson is cleared or can resolve his legal issues — and that’s a huge IF given the charges against him — he’ll be the quarterback of the future in Miami. Nonetheless, a chasm has been created between the Dolphins front office and their former draft pick, and I’m not sure it can be fixed at this juncture.

Tagovailoa is still fairly limited in the Dolphins offense, but if anyone can figure out a way for him to succeed, it’s Matt LaFleur. With Miami’s intentions fairly obvious, the Packers could acquire Tua fairly cheap, and turn him into a Pro-Bowl level quarterback.

His jump from his rookie season to Year 2 has been obvious, as he’s thrown for 15 touchdowns to just nine interceptions, plus three more scores on the ground. His Dolphins have won seven straight games.
