Packers bold predictions, Rashan Gary

2. Rashan Gary will sack Kirk Cousins two times

Rasul Douglas was the star of Green Bay’s defense last week with two interceptions. That overshadowed the air of sacks Gary came up with on the afternoon. He’s quietly becoming a borderline Pro Bowl player for the Packers defense and he seems to be peaking at the perfect time.

Gary will be salivating at Cousins’ willingness to hold onto the football to let his receivers work on deep and intermediate throws. Minnesota doesn’t have the talent up front required to keep Gary away from Cousins on a consistent basis.

The end result isn’t going to be pretty for the Vikings. Gary is going to live in the opposing backfield and he’ll notch two sacks for a second consecutive week. If he can force Cousins to put the ball on the ground once it’ll give his defense a much-needed boost.

Gary isn’t getting the national notoriety he deserves for his stellar play this season, but his teammates understand they wouldn’t be where they are without his terrific pass-rushing skills. He’ll come up big against Minnesota in Week 17.
