1. Davante Adams will catch fewer than five passes

Adams is Green Bay’s most talented receiver by a wide margin. That’s why getting him going is a huge priority for the team’s coaching staff every week.

His importance is noted by each and every coaching staff he comes up against. Zimmer and his defensive staff will spend hours this week concocting ways to stop the All-Pro wideout. Shutting him down is impossible. Slowing him down is the only realistic goal for Minnesota.

Counterintuitively, the Vikings’ willingness to play single coverage all over the field will work against Adams’ volume in this game. He might be the only Green Bay who sees double coverage. That will naturally tempt Rodgers to look at other guys instead of his usual No. 1 option.

Adams will make big catches to lead his team to victory this week, but the volume isn’t going to be there for the soon-to-be free agent. He won’t even catch five passes on the day for his offense. It’s a mistake to call Adams a decoy most weeks, but that statement will ring true in his team’s Week 17 battle with the Vikings.
