2. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville Jaguars. player. 52

Put Trevor Lawrence on ice and let his backup get Jacksonville the No. 1 pick

If there was ever a game to prove to that were you land matters, just look at the box score from the New England Patriots’ utter evisceration of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mac Jones and the New England attack went full-blown Head Ball Coach and hung half-a-hundred on London’s Finest in Foxborough. Trevor Lawrence played poorly once again, as the Jaguars swallowed that 50 burger.

Lawrence completed 17-of-27 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the ghastly 50-10 defeat at the hands of the Evil Empire. Even though he was the first of five quarterbacks taken in the 2021 NFL Draft last spring, Lawrence and his team got smoked by the fifth quarterback selected, who just so happens to be a Jacksonville native. The Jaguars are awful.

So instead of letting Lawrence taking another hellacious beating at the hands of a playoff-desperate Indianapolis Colts team, put him on ice and punt for next season. Let a practice squad quarterback make his first career start to guarantee that Jacksonville will finish 2-15 and end up with the No. 1 overall pick. Doubling your win total from a season ago means a star pass-rusher.

The last thing the Jaguars want to do is give Lawrence some good, old-fashioned David Carr PTSD.
