Ben Roethlisberger could be playing his final Steelers home game on Monday but, even though JuJu Smith-Schuster isn’t playing, he gave a heartfelt message.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Browns on Monday Night Football, the expectation is that this will be the final game at Heinz Field for Ben Roethlisberger.

Therefore, fans, teammates and perhaps the team are preparing as such. But one player who won’t be out there for Pittsburgh will be wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster after he suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the year. However, after spending his entire career with Big Ben throwing him the football, it’s understandable that he’d feel a connection to the quarterback.

And that made his message to Roethlisberger all the more touching ahead of the Monday night clash.

Steelers: JuJu Smith-Schuster gives Ben Roethlisberger a touching tribute

It’s clear that Smith-Schuster has the utmost appreciation for Big Ben and his time with the Steelers, in addition to what the quarterback has meant to his career.

Interestingly enough, we could also have seen the last of the wide receiver in a Steelers uniform as well. There was a good chance he left Pittsburgh in free agency this offseason but, instead, he elected to stay for one last ride before his injury on a one-year deal. Thus, he could sign elsewhere this offseason.

Regardless, with the message from Smith-Schuster already tugging at heartstrings, it’s safe to say that Monday could be an emotional night for fans watching and Heinz Field.
